“AckAckAckAck!”
Last year we discovered a morning dove nest in my neighbor’s boat house, because he was the best neighbor ever he let us put up a tarp underneath and put off launching his boat until they left the nest.
I’ve talked about him before, we knew each other for 50 years, he passed away this January.
This afternoon his wife told me to go look in their shrub next to their porch.
Another baby morning dove.
My friend is still around.
Oh, those curly back feets!
I know! But woe betide you if you try and touch them, or the belly
I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend. A new crop of nestlings is a lovely memorial.

Public Health Announcement for all cat owners;
My Biscuit, who is 18, had his checkup yesterday and his old man blood labs came back this morning; he has kidney function within normal parameters, which is rare for a cat his age. My vet and I put this down to him getting a primarily wet food diet (he gets a handful of special kibble for his teeth) and adding about a tablespoon of water to every meal. I’ve been doing this since I rescued him, about 16 years ago, and it’s paying off now. He will likely never need subq therapy.
So cat owners; wet food primarily, and add about a tablespoon of water to keep their kidneys healthy.
Grooming session today. Brushed out the winter/spring coat:
AirPods case for scale. (Sorry, no banana. Just look at it!). He was both angry at me and happy to no longer have that coat now that summer weather has hit.
Angry/cool bun edition!
Retroactively thankful edition!
Nimbus has been all about the sinks and tub lately. Which is funny, because the a/c makes sure the house never gets hot and he will also cuddle with the compact furry space heater while in the warmest room in the house
