Snuggles. Unfortunately right where I need to put my yoga mat. I suppose I’ll have to wait
I’ve never had a dog until this week but I’m really enjoying it so far! Loona (kids renamed her from Lola) is really taking to her new home!
I’m glad you’re enjoying it, I’ve had dogs growing up as a kid, and as an adult i’ve had cats. Cats are just as amazing as dogs but the bond with dogs does fulfill a different part of you. What’s Loona’s story as far as you know?
I grew up with cats, and always loved them. I’ve never had a dog, though my wife has, and it was her urging that got me to give it a try.
Loona is a farm dog that was given to us by the ex of our new roommate. She’s a 1.5 year old black lab, I believe from a breeder, and she previously lived mostly outside except for at night when she’d sleep in the basement. The person who gave her to us felt bad about how she was living and convinced her new beau to let her go, and knowing we were looking and have kids, offered her to us so she could live a better life.
She’s a little unsure of things, especially stuff like walks (she never had them) and cars, but she’s adjusting well and is absolutely loving the attention she’s getting. We have the kids next week, and I know they’re looking forward to spending some time with her.
That’s great, i’m glad the original owner accepted that someone else could give her more attention and care
Congratulations! Details please! How old is she, where did you get her from? Where is she from? Obviously Lab cross, but anything else in there?
She’s gorgeous, and you’ll have so much fun! I say that dog are pure joy and distilled love.
ETA; I see that you’ve already given her bio to Grey_Devil.
For a started dog, you certainly pick a whole lot of dog!
Just realized I don’t think I ever related the happy conclusion to the foster of these 2 beauties. As a recap, Sonny and Cher were a bonded pair of long-term shelter cats at the local humane society we foster for. Both older, 11 and 14, I think. The previous owner had died and to the shelter they went. Too stressed in the regular part of the shelter, they were kept in one of the offices.
We took them right before x-mas with the understanding we’d bring them in to meet any interested parties. But none emerged.
We had them over 2 months and brought them back to the shelter on a Friday before we left town for several weeks. It’s always sad, that part. And I was especially sad knowing how nervous they’d been there before. At our house they’d come out of their shells and been playing and cuddling.
Then, on the Thursday after we left, their perfect forever home found them! So they didn’t even stay at the shelter for a whole week before they got a new home. According to the shelter, it’s a lovely older couple, just like the kitties themselves.
Priorities. The cats are teaching you a lesson on patience. Superior beings I say.
My wife was buying vegetables when she met an old acquaintance. She is beautiful kitten that wanders around the neighborhood stores, where she is loved by everyone.
That belleh needs to be tickled.
And a fabulous photo as well.
and @subextraordinaire She said that in the actual live pitch, the audience was chanting Porkchop, Porkchop, Porkchop at the end.
She’s been running ads on Facebook, so I assume that is where the funds she won is going.
tldr;
“If your dog or cat has a microchip number that starts with 991 or 900164 then it could be a Save This Life microchip. Save This Life suddenly closed, and your pet may not be protected.”
ok…
no more potty breaks in the middle of a print run!
or:
“why we can’t have nice things, chapter 13: CATS!”
i wonder which way she went?
whilst inside for a wee pause for a wee wee cause, ChiliDog had jumped up onto the workbench and tracked ink all about.
naughty girl that she is!
I had that happen with a painting, I had used red oil sticks. Kitty was not happy with clean up, because I had to be really careful to get it all. Little red prints on my blanket never did wash out. Not that I minded
Didn’t make that mistake again.
