In his backyard? That’s not his backyard. That’s his house! Hakeem Jeffries isn’t the Representative for some New York district near NYC. His district is in Brooklyn. It’s in NYC! That mayoral election is for his mayor. He should have voted in that primary. He should be voting in the general election in November.
Something the Democratic base is awakening too is the lengths Dem politicians will go to “keep” or “win” the votes of people who are deeply unlikely to ever vote for them in the first place, but when the base itself says they have a red line all they get is scolded
The thing is, the rescission package defunding public media and foreign aid had to pass before Friday because of statutory time limits. Any combination of Dem senators could have filibustered the package this week and pushed debate past the deadline. The question to ask is why didn’t they?
Reese Waters talks about the reactions to Rep. Jasmine Crockett (among her peers, and in polls), because her name is among possible Senate candidates in Texas:
Watching the Democratic party is a masterclass in “how to be part of the problem”.
The House voted 308 to 122 for the GENIUS Act, the corrupt crypto industry bill to set the stage for the next financial crisis, encourage money laundering, and bless Trump’s corruption.
102 Democrats voted yes, including 4 out of the 5 memberships of House Dems’s Leadership Team.
But new research suggests the prevailing wisdom that has guided those efforts — the idea that Democrats tacked too far to the left last year — might be, well, wrong.
Gee, that’s surprising. I mean, campaigning with Liz Cheney is just obviously way too far to the left.
New research . . . pfft. You don’t need research to see that Democrats didn’t move to the left AT ALL last year, so clearly they didn’t lose because they went too far to the left. That’s a right wing talking point, not reality.
It’s not “prevailing widsdom” it’s “prevailing propaganda.”
We’ve been drowning in lies for a decade.
a decade???
Okay, about 10 decades or so…
Like more than ever since trump. I know this has been a flavor of argument in the gop. I know there have been Clinton-type Democrats since the 80s. But the message has been on steroids and obviously manipulated through the internet since about 2016. I suspect the reasons have been plainly spelled out. There’s the problems that the Dems cause and the problems that the Dems have to contend with. This problem has been both. But I’ve honestly seen a massive propaganda campaign unlike anything I have seen in my life since the six months after 9/11 and I think it is good to differentiate it from the typical centrist Democratic or non-theocratic Republican agenda.
