Can’t argue with that. When I learned that he was married to a major Republican operative I stopped listening to what he had to say. They seem like a very mercenary couple.
‘I can hear James Carville’s head exploding’: Gen Z DNC official claps back at Dem critic
“Not to mention the fact that, frankly, he has not won an election since before I was born. I think it’s time for some new voices in our party.”
You go get him David!
Oh there’ll be an election all right. Just not in a way that matters.
It’ll be the best election. Biggest turnout ever. Trump will win 120% of the popular vote, and even more of the electoral vote.
Meanwhile his opponent will have only won 98% of the popular vote and be unable to challenge the results after unfortunately falling out of a window.
I can’t believe I’m posting this, but even a broken-clock moment should probably be acknowledged:
The article later corrects itself; Al Green was the first Democrat to call for impeachment, which makes Thanedar the second. But it’s more gutsy than I’d ever expected from him, considering I’ve usually considered him a self-serving opportunistic playboy shitweasel (he dropped affiliation with the DSA the femtosecond it became politically inconvenient, and, well, this.) I haven’t changed my mind about him, but I am surprised, and we’ll see how far he’s willing to go with it.
Too many Dems, especially almost all the old ones besides Bernie (yes, Independent but you know what I mean) are playing with some old political playbook with Trump. They keep acting like norms will snap back into play. Or at worse, Trump’s going to be happy with getting X and will stop.
In reality, he’s acting like an out of control and spoiled toddler. Every time anyone gives him anything, he takes it and demands more. Law firms buckle to avoid illegal EO? Demands they give him more than agreed or he’ll do another EO. Judges tell him not to deport people, says can’t stop the planes, can’t get people back, or a written order doesn’t mean anything.
Last time, he had some career GOP stopping some of his worst impulses. This time, Project 2025 is using him to get what they want, and he’s surrounded himself with people who know they can only survive if he’s happy, so they do anything and everything he wants. They wouldn’t 25th his corpse.
The old establishment has to go if they can’t understand…and I think to a point they can’t. I can’t keep up on what my nieces are into and doing anymore and I’m not that old…but it is two generations away. Congress is 3-4 generations behind the people they are representing.
And on the diversity in Congress- about time, but almost all of those are coming on one side of the aisle. So much of the GOP is while male with black hair in standard cut and style plus a small amount of white woman with blonde hair.
I do not understand the hair color part of that, but I’ll just skip that.
I think you’re totally correct. Especially with the spoiled toddler tantrum bit.
And I think the Republicans and the Democrats are now very clearly playing two different games, by completely different rule sets.
I have no idea how the Democrats haven’t realized that yet. Or if they have, why they’re not saying anything about it. The town hall meetings are cool and all, but they don’t seem to address that underlying issue. That one team is playing by completely different rules than their opponents.
And yes, they’re old. But they’ve had 10 years to look at it, talk about it, figure it out. And seriously, an entire decade? If my boss comes to me with some problem, I cannot just say “Ok, maybe I’ll consider looking at it a decade from now.”
How do we spell that out to our reps in a clear enough manner? And give them a kick in the butt to start looking at it.
Good lord, those opinions are literally MAGA talking points. These assholes are Democrats?
(Ugh. Is that plunger operator drunk?)
Agreed.
If that’s the direction the Democratic party is gonna go… I want no part of it.
And I’ve voted Democrat, identified as a Democrat (more or less), as long as I’ve been voting, for over thirty years now.
Going “Republican Lite” is not the answer. You’d think the results of the last election would’ve proved that, but these people are determined to learn all the wrong answers from it. They aren’t “losing the base,” they’re abandoning it, deliberately.
I am just so done with this shit.
Along those same lines…Newsom wants regulators to leave AI alone. Right on the heels of a shitstorm about AI being used to write part of the California bar exam, that was a complete disaster.

ETA: Seriously, if the Democratic Party nominates this guy for President in 2028, I am done with them.
The Dems also gave us rfk and Tulsi gabbard. I think they are not immune to influence either and are likely almost as compromised as the gop.
They simply also have the majority of the coalition-for not-having-a-civil-war in their ranks right now whereas the GOP doesn’t.
Fuck you, you old, out of touch asshole. If we are to save our country, getting rid of folks like you who value power over people is the necessary first step.
oooh! touched a nerve, did he?!
you go, mr. Hogg! good on ya!
