Wired has a great article that shows how sleazy property investors, the catholic church, outsourced office labour in the Philippines and a mysterious German all combined to turn flats in central London into a series of rip-off, quasi hotels, all while riding a coach and horses through what limited regulation there is of the “disruptive” short stay industry.
It would appear that the new temple to the gods of capitalism is to be found in horrible hotels.
