Oh FFS. Just caught up on events from the last couple of hours. Doesn’t Israel (and Netanyahu’s government in particular) have enough enemies yet?

A few days ago the anti-Assad forces in Syria finally kicked out that brutal leader after years of civil war. Part of the forces that were defeated was Hezbollah (Israel’s enemy) who had been fighting on behalf of Assad. You’d think that Netanyahu would take the W and leave the Syrian rebels to themselves, as Israel has its hands full already. But instead Netanyahu decided to launch some strikes into the country, send in their soldiers, and seize a chunk of land.

I guess that since the ICC already issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu for war crimes he must be figuring that he’s got nothing left to lose, or something? But this seems like total madness.

Edit- a quote from the Israeli defense minister explains:

So, you know, they’re just blowing up a country preemptively because the next guys in charge might not be nice, even though they don’t know who that’s going to be. Quite the strategy.
