Germany has absolutely no credibility with anyone here.
It’s a bit like the English lecturing China about Hong Kong. Utterly delusional.
I’m not sure that I understand that comparison, can you elaborate? England relinquished Hong Kong to China after the lease was up. The U.K. as well as a lot of the world is critical of how China is governing Hong Kong but most foreign countries still recognize it as being part of China’s sovereign territory. The situation with occupied territories in Palestine is very different. Unilaterally seizing this land and building these settlements has been declared illegal by the U.N.
As far as criticizing the actions of a country that you’re selling or giving a shit-ton of weapons to without restrictions, yeah, there’s a bit of a credibility issue there. But certainly not unique to Germany, unfortunately…
Edit- and the BBC seems to have edited the headline . It described him as " Far-right Israeli minister", when I saw it first.
That’s far too tame. “Internationally sanctioned, convicted domestic terrorist” would be more accurate but still insufficient. But there’s only so much room for headlines, I guess.
Edit to add: the BBC headline still says “Far-Right Israeli Minister” when I click the link for the actual article. I think the one-box summary was just shortened.
