In September, the Spartans’ co-captain, senior Brooke Slusser, outed her own teammate, the player at the center of this controversy, in joining a federal lawsuit against the NCAA spearheaded by anti-trans inclusion activist and former college athlete Riley Gaines.

Now comes another twist: San Jose State University suspended associate head coach Melissa Batie-Smoose with pay, indefinitely, after she filed a Title IX complaint against SJSU. She claims the player Slusser identified as trans conspired with an opponent to help the team lose a match and injure Slusser. Batie-Smoose named the player in question in her complaint and on Sept. 23, joined the same lawsuit that Slusser is now a part of.

Carrie went out on the town thinking Xmas and got monogram stockings for the new grandbaby, the new name for our trans youngest, and realized that her deadname has the same monogram as her boyfriend, so plan to reassign that one. Running out of room on the mantle, but it’s all good!

I’m not the first trans woman the creep has sent that message to either. I’ve previously seen some of the big trans accounts post pictures of that same message. Fucker must be working his way though all the trans accounts.

I’ve had a number of those over the years, but I’ve closed my DMs to non mutuals everywhere because of this and other crap I’ve received. I’m pretty careful with who I let into my circle now, and as a lesbian I never accept requests from men I don’t know both personally and well after a few people got weird after I came out.

The reality is that most public discourse about trans people comes from a place of profound discomfort with bodily transition, from both reactionaries and supposed progressives.
It’s why we’re so readily hurled under passing buses and why the most basic advocacy for our humanity seems radical.

I’ve often wondered how much of the backlash against trans people is cis people imagining themselves transitioning, getting dysphoric from the that, and deciding it must be bad for everyone. Meanwhile we’ve been living in that discomfort for years, sometimes decades, and transition freeing us from that just isn’t considered by them. Who knows?
