Cars are more dangerous than pretty much anything.
Spotted her!
That’s awful.
Sure hope she decides to care for the survivors.
Different nest in a different tree. Mama cardinal on the nest. There is at least one hatchling under her.
Yep; under the chair on the left
Do you have a wildlife rehab centre near you? They might take them if the mother abandons them.
The mother was back this morning, so good to go there.
I doubt any wildlife rehab place near me would take these. They are only newborns with their eyes fully closed.
That’s excellent that the mother came back!
just saw this story on local tv:
(Sent from Local10 News - WPLG)
“He came right on me with his claws,” Farrow said adding the duck latched on. “I was clapping my arm and kicking and screaming to get him away.”
Farrow said that as she defended herself more ducks started to approach them, so she and her grandson ran away from them.
Other residents in the Rock Creek community said the geese in the same pond have also been aggressive. They also have to be careful with alligators, snakes, and fowl.
“what will you say when the ducks come?”
!!!
Cutest salamander EVAR.
This little guy tried to explore my sun porch and had a nasty encounter with Joey and Bitey Blue. Despite losing his tail and having a couple puncture wounds, it was still sassy (terrified?) enough to bite me while I took it outside. Hope it survives.
(Five lined skink, per the internet)
He showed you! Rawr!
They can lose their tail quite easily, and it keeps moving for a bit, giving the lizard a bit of time to escape… dunno about the puncture wounds, mice tend to get blood poisoning from the cat’s mouth germs
