The wild animals that live among us

I used to travel to Sydney fairly often. I got used to using the car key to poke under the car’s door handle before trying to open the door.

Here’s a friendly guy who lived on my rental car for a week. Leg spread around 12cm

For some reason, the Kiskadees on the rooftop of the building nextdoor hated this song.

I thought the product shown briefly at 0:14 must be some delicious candy…but I see by searching that it’s laundry detergent powder

I’m sure it will be the next Tide pod challenge.

Was walking to my car this afternoon and found this bun, and they let me open my purse, get my phone and snap a pic!

(That is my car on the right edge. I pay to park in what we call the “princess lot” right across the street from work.)

I’m thinking I’d seen these before and figured they were black swallowtails (Papilio polyxenes), but this has no tails. Instead, I’d guess it’s a red-spotted purple (Limenitis arthemis astyanax). Ordinarily I’ll see either/both species in our yard, but not this year (except the zebra swallowtail, from a week or so ago, that’s showed up twice). Or, I’m just not out in the yard as much. (Or both)

(Edit for spelping)
