As with most of this kind of shit, there’s an element of truth. A teensy, eensy, weensy element of truth. She was born in the Bronx and lived there until she was 5. Her dad was an architect, and earned enough money to move the family to the burbs in Yorktown Heights when she was 5, and she spent the rest of her childhood there. I think middle class or maybe even upper middle class would be more accurate than “wealth and privilege.” But when she was in college, her father died, and probating his estate turned into a nightmare. Her mother almost lost the house, and AOC moved back to the Bronx and took a job as a bartender to help her mother out. Her origin story is not one of coming out of abject poverty, but it’s also not one of coming from wealth and privilege. Frankly, her origin story is very “typical American.” Middle America should love her, because her story is very much like theirs, but they’re too busy hating the “librul elite” to see it.
ETA: no, it was just middle class, not upper middle. This ridiculous post shows the house she grew up in in Yorktown Heights.
“Only 5-10% of people pass the screening process”
See, this right here is the height of my imposter syndrome anxiety. Applying to donate poo and finding out my shit’s not good enough would be just the kind of thing my internal monologuist would latch onto and replay for years!
Um. What?
(Finds the related article on Neatorama.)
Huh. I mean, I can kind of get the idea, but it still seems like a very limited use case and frankly unnecessary.
It does seem to take prepping to an unnecessary extreme. But better to have a store of poo and not need it than to need it and not have it?
Her story also shows how easy it is to slide from “middle class” to “working class” these days, with the loss of one income in the family.
Homes nearby range from $600K to $800K? OK dude, two can play this game (I love easy research!):

Brings us to his home, currently valued at $735K (sold May 27, 2025, so that’s a very current valuation):

Oh, and it looks like there’s an Economic Tort case filed against him:

This seems to be the best document to see what’s going on:

Apparently he’s blocking his father’s ability to sell his home to his brother Michael, because he moved in illegally and has been living there rent-free and doesn’t want to have to leave.
ETA: Yup: he convinced his dad to give him power of attorney and immediately moved into the dad’s home, refusing to leave. His dad was trying to sell the home to his brother. He doesn’t own a home; he’s just trespassing, and blocking a legit sale.
Although, if Zillow is right, the sale went through a couple of weeks after the last recorded court document (on Trellis), at $735K instead of the original $600K agreement…which, to be fair, was 3 years ago.
The man is old enough that under 18 would be the right age range for his great-grandchildren.
A reminder that he was an FOE (friend of Epstein), and we don’t know if the creep had sex with minors.
(guessing that it’s yes?)
No doubt whatsoever.
Tax dodging Tory Rod Stewart finds a way to be even worse.
I’m sorry if Rod Steward has spoiled Glastonbury for you.
Don’t be upset; maybe he’ll die on stage.
Good God, what have we become?!?
I hope he dies alone on the toilet.
