I found this delightful being on one of the pickets of our rickety back fence while pruning dead branches from the snowball bush there.
Not with those fierce-looking black spikes on the back! North American species of Mothra, perhaps?
And I saw’d a dragonfly, too - but didn’t have my phone with me. I wish it was all nature around me, and not stuff like houses. Well, 'cept for mine, tee-hee!
Taken just a few minutes ago in my front garden.
I have no idea what spooked her, lol.
Just moved. Gorgeous day today so we took a break from the ongoing slog of unpacking to explore the little park and grounds of the school across the street from our new apartment.
As we were finishing a loop of the sweet little park and walking behind the school, we spotted a path into the woods. Followed it. Discovered this amazing wilderness area that just kept going and was so beautiful. As we left we saw a sign that it’s a joint project with several companies for the school. We are so excited to be so close. We had the whole place to ourselves.
My daughter is amazing at getting plants to bloom. Two stubborn Amaryllises should bloom any day. And Fittonia, a notoriously fickle plant, is growing a flower under her care.
She and my mom are kindred spirits. Mom brought roses over from our home in Detroit and planted them here, and she knew how to grow an entire bush from a cutting (and she tollllld me, yay!); I’ve not even killed most of them, tho I admit one may be coming close, after…wow, 30 years now. I mean, youse guys have seen my posts of outside with the roses, c’rekt?
Very pretty. <3 Thanks too for bringing back most happy memories of my mom.
I never watched Johnny Mnemonic until tonight, but I read the story back when. I didn’t even realize the story was set on January 17, 2021
We got some cyber-catchy-punk-up to do.
Technically last night’s view, but my daughter and I are propagating avocado. Yesterday, two of the seeds finally cracked as the baby plant starts to root.
Decided to ditch out of home to Hot Springs for some hiking. We haven’t done a whole lot of exploration of the area immediately nearby, so this is neat.
I turned on the front-porch light so I could take a night photo of the tulips and grape hyacinth (the little purple-sphered flowers) with snow on them.
