Tracking the price of eggs in the US dictatorship

In the not too distant future, Avocado Toast will cost more than lobster and caviar.

Expecting prices to go up under Trump, I upgraded our two smartphones in November. Two of them for $850.

If these two phones last as long as the previous ones did, it works out to about $5.90 a month per phone. Less than eggs… certainly less than the cost of the phone plan :stuck_out_tongue:

Costco North Alabama $8.99/2 doz ($4.50/doz) for either white cage-free or brown organic, up $0.25/doz in a little more than a week. Still limit 3.

First time in a month or so that they haven’t been sold out of the white cage-free ones when I’ve gone.

This whole “price of eggs” thing has suddenly reminded me of something- a line from an old short story:

Full Pdf-

Context- it’s a short satirical story where voting is replaced by polling one random citizen, and extrapolating all the election results from that person’s responses. The line in question:

The one question that Norman could remember at the moment was an incongruously gossipy “What do you think of the price of eggs?”
He had answered, blankly, “I don’t know the price of eggs.”

And for reference, here, the price of a dozen eggs is £2.70 for medium free range, £3.15 for large free range, and £4.85 for organic. Which translates to $3.49, $4.07 and $6.26 respectively.

For a moment there, I thought your eggs were categorized by how far the hens were allowed to roam…

My coworker has an excess of eggs. Now that its a little warmer she’s getting two dozen eggs a day from her chickens. I’m happy to take them but even i’m struggling to put them to use.

Endless omelet bar? Lots of souffles? Pickled eggs? lots of hardboiled eggs for snacking upon? Egg salad sandwiches? Egging the homes of Trump supporters? Massive neighborhood easter egg hunt this year? Torts? Over-easy? Over-medium? Shakshuka (that’s fun to say)?

Shakshuka? That could be fun…

i finally came upon a street chicken nest, under my front porch! had a dozen store-bought eggs and added 14 more fresh!
too may eggs? not when you can make this chili relleno casserole! the street chickens eggs are smaller, about a medium size, so i used 8 in the latest chili creation. ground beef is entirely optional in this. i would just load up more poblano peppers (they are mild, but very tasty!) and make it a cheesey pepper bake.
