Scratch them harder, you will find a fascist…

That was refreshingly blunt.

This is the part that took me aback:

Mark Wingfield serves as executive director and publisher of Baptist News Global. He is the author of Honestly: Telling the Truth About the Bible and Ourselves and Why Churches Need to Talk About Sexuality. His brand-new book is Troubling the Truth and Other Tales from the News.

We need more evangelicals like this!

… I’d ask how you’d have to scratch them to find a decent person, but at that point we’d probably be talking about evisceration. /sarcasm

Beat me to it! I’m in the middle of watching it. I was going to post it when I’d finished. It could also go in the Steve Shives and Religion categories.

I hope one day they “thank” those abusive parents by cutting off all ties and leaving them to die alone and unloved, regretting being stupid and evil enough to have bought into the trans panic. The world needs to shun these bigots and show them there’s consequences for their behavior.

Some people are so proud of their abuse it’s sickening. They will never understand when their children go “no contact” on them. They don’t love their children, they love what they think their children are. (Yeah, I’m speaking from personal experience here.)

Richard Dawkins is a first-rate asshat and a poster child for Dunning-Kruger effect.

Oh do shut up, Richard.

There used to be a thing about listening to Dawkins when he’s talking about biology and not otherwise. I guess we’ve passed that now. This is biology, at least in part, and he’s butchered it to put bigotry first.

I have a biology book of his on my shelf, given as a gift many years ago. I had enjoyed it. I haven’t been sure what to do with it now, since I am unlikely to enjoy it again. :disappointed:

I couldn’t hold on to my Harry Potter books. The first time ever I put readable books into the recycling bin.
