Well, see he’s a WHITE MAN who was successful once, so… he’s an all-knowing oracle now.
Also, and I know everyone here understands this, but just because a majority of Americans support something does not make that thing right. A majority of Americans once opposed interracial marriage. A majority of Americans once opposed abolition. I don’t care that much about what a majority of Americans want or support. I care about what’s right.
Basic civil and human rights should never be up for a majority vote. Human beings deserve human rights. Period, no qualifiers. It hurts me that i need to say that.
Honestly at this point I wonder if being wrong all the time makes people listen to you. There are so many stupid men I could mention that I don’t know where to start. It doesn’t make any sense to me, but then none of this does.
It’s amazing how just being a white guy makes everything so much easier. I miss being able to slack a little (sometimes a lot) and still be respected, but being a woman is so much better…
Indeed!
Also, he said that based on zero actual data. He pulled that out of his ass.
I remember decades ago; 20 or 30 years ago, two of my oldest friends (a married hetero couple) and I were discussing an old friend and coworker of the husband’s who was a trans woman, and who had recently begun her transition. This mystified my male friend who said to his wife and I; “C’mon; if you had the choice, you’d be guys, wouldn’t you?” His wife and I looked at each other, then at him and shook our heads in unison. Nope.
Unfortunately, it’s not entirely pulled out of his ass.
The court thoroughly dismantled the credibility of the state’s witnesses, going so far as to eviscerate them in judicial footnotes. Of Dr. James Cantor, the ruling notes that he “is not a physician, has never practiced as a licensed clinical psychologist in the United States, is not licensed to treat patients under the age of 16, and has never provided treatments to patients under the age of 16.” Dr. Paul Hruz fared no better, with the court pointing out that “he never diagnosed or treated a patient with gender dysphoria.” The ruling also highlighted his history of anti-trans advocacy, citing his testimony in a transgender bathroom ban case, where he stated: “Conditioning children into believing that a lifetime of impersonating someone of the opposite sex, achievable only through chemical and surgical interventions, is a form of child abuse.”
Even the state’s sole witness with marginal qualification, Dr. Stephen Levine, ultimately undercut its case. The court noted that while Dr. Levine has experience in the field, he testified that he does not support a categorical ban on gender-affirming care and provided no evidence that such care is substandard in Ohio. In other words, the state’s own expert failed to justify the ban.
“Advisor to Joe Manchin…” This says all you need to know about his credibility.
Moderates are having their moment. Jesus fucking Christ, these people. Harris ran to the right of Biden. She refused to fully embrace the progressive aspects of the Biden Administration. She never mentioned trans people. She barely mentioned gay people. She didn’t let any Palestinian, or pro-Palestinian, speak at the convention, she campaigned with Liz fucking Cheney, and promised to put a Republican in her cabinet. If she had gone any further to the right, she would have had to register as a Republican and challenge Trump during the primaries.
Democrats continue to just accept, without challenge, the narrative created by the GOP: that the Democratic Party is full of radical leftists like Sleepy Joe, Kamala, and the Clintons and Obamas, and has to move to the right to recapture moderates and win elections. Meanwhile, actual leftists like Bernie, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Jasmine Crockett, Ilhan Omar, and others continue to consistently win elections, but there are so few of them they can’t control the direction of the Democratic Party. It’s infuriating.
First off, polls are shit. I can design a poll to get any result I want.
Second, most Americans don’t even understand the question. I doubt Carville does. So I still think he’s pulling it out of his ass.
Carville is the guy they pull out after the decision has already been made to push whatever it is.
When I think of Carville, I think of him using every dirty trick he could think of to discredit Paula Jones.
