A lot of information in there. Some highlights:

The results were weighted to try to represent the views of the wider LGBTQ+ population - including those of different sexualities, gender identities, races and abilities.

It also broke down the different ways they had experienced these practices, with some experiencing more than one type.

17% said they’d experienced physical assault
12% said they’d experienced pseudo-scientific counselling sessions
15% said they’d been threatened with homelessness
10% said they’d experienced exorcisms

I’m in the 12% and 15% categories, It would be no shock to find out that I transitioned almost immediately after I realised the abusers had no power over me anymore.

And Baroness Falkner shows that she is an irredeemable POS again.

Baroness Kishwer Falkner, chairwoman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) told BBC News she supported a ban but that the law must be “carefully considered.”

She said: "Any legislation must include clear definitions to both capture the harms it seeks to prevent and ensure that it does not risk criminalising those providing appropriate support and care, including legitimate medical support.

“The proposed ban will need to balance the rights of the individuals subject to conversion practices with other human rights protections, such as religious freedom and freedom of expression.”

tl;dr version: There must be exceptions to abuse trans people in the name of religion and TERFism.

Walmart canned 6’4" cisgender woman threatened by a man who thought she was trans

As always, it’s not about trans as much as controlling cis women and policing their femininity. She’s tall. So. Fucking. What.

“We want our associates to feel safe and supported in their workplace, and we won’t tolerate bullying or threats of violence against our associates or customers,” Walmart spokesperson Joe Pennington said in a statement. “We’ve reviewed the situation and will be addressing it internally. We’ve also made multiple attempts to invite Ms. Davis to return to work, with back pay.”

I read this as “Oh, God. We fucked up when we fired her without cause, and we want her to come back and work for us for very little money instead of suing us for wrongful termination. Even though this is Florida, we believe that she may win her lawsuit.”

Add this to the endless list of things that turn men trans, like drinking from a straw, listening to a woman or giving a fuck about anyone else. For folks who think that this is immutably set at birth because someone thinks that’s how you look, they seem to also think it is incredibly fragile.

Maybe we should start a list?

Having worked at Walmart, I’m 100% sure the firing was due to the overinflated ego of an assistant manager. Those people are typically assholes. And they fucking love to “coach” employees for any minor violation of policy while also flagrantly violating policy themselves as well as encouraging certain types of policy violations (working through breaks is a big one). My first week at Walmart, I was “coached” by a Customer Service Manager right in front of a customer, which is a huge no no, per written Walmart policy. I saw an assistant manager coach other employees right out on the store floor in front of customers multiple times.

So I’m sure the firing was done by one of these low level managers who said “Oh the policy says you have to report an incident like that with a potentially threatening customer immediately to a salaried manager! By not reporting that to one of us, you put everyone in the store in danger so I have no choice but to let you go.” But also, it’s interesting that the supervisor who the incident was reported to wasn’t fired, even though they also didn’t apparently report the incident to a salaried manager. So whoever fired the employee probably also just didn’t like the really tall woman. Or maybe they also thought she was trans and this was just an excuse. Either way, I can totally believe a low level manager made this decision against Walmart’s own written policies. It happens all the time there. They do a shitty job controlling their managers.

I think job titles have changed since I was there, but when I worked there, there was a store manager, and then below them four associate managers, I think the title was. And then under them a whole bunch of assistant managers. Those were all the salaried managers. Below them were CSMs and department managers, but all of them were hourly. Anyway, our store manager was a moron who no one ever saw because he rarely left his office, if he was in the store at all. The associate managers, or whatever their title was, were actually mostly pretty cool. The department managers were all cool because they really didn’t have any authority to do anything. They just got paid a little more than the base level associates did. It was the assistant managers and CSMs who were assholes. They had just enough power to go to their heads, and just enough power to fuck things up.

NEW: After cancelling nearly all projects on trans health, the Trump admin has now directed the NIH to study the negative consequences of transitioning.

This will create “a distorted research ecosystem where only politically favorable findings are permitted to exist”, researcher Harry Barbee says.

Note that almost all of the comments talk about having not watched “White Lotus” but would watch the hell out of The Black Lotus.
