The result of which was the Church recommending Gay and Lesbians avoid same-sex relationships - and rid themselves of their desires. Was this REALLY the right person to put in charge of a case involving trans rights at the UK Supreme Court? What result did they expect?

Because the mere existence of trans men breaks Terf âlogicâ in a fundamental way. To them, Women are good and safe, while men are evil and dangerous, and nobody can ever step outside those two boxes.
They have to ignore trans men because they canât resolve the contradiction of thinking that trans men are good, nice women, but theyâre messing things up by not womaing properly.
Terfs are always going to have a problem when encountering the reality of gender as real life refutes their inherently binary view of gender as oppressed and oppressor. They either have to give up their ideology or try to force the world to fit their simple-minded view, and theyâre frantically choosing option 2, no matter how many people it hurts (and itâs a lot).

And it is mostly cis women. I think for TERFs this might be unintentional, although absolutely predictable. For the men empowering this, though, it is very intentional to police women into a very specific type of femininity, mostly helpless, dependent and frail. Any effort to stand up for themselves or to appear strong and confident must be knocked down so the mens can protect the poor, defenseless wimmins.

Itâs like the discussion of Sebastian Gorka over in the thread on the goddamned trump administration. For TERFs, if youâre not with them, youâre on âtheirâ side. So purposefully harming women who donât embrace the full on bigotry of TERFs is really on brand.

I wish I could say I was shocked at the percentage, even if itâs a small percentage, of trans people that view trans people negatively. In any marginalized group you can always find some that have bought into the bigotry and believe themselves to be âone of the good onesâ that bigots would accept if it wasnât for those other people.
