Transphobic events

As many of our trans friends here have pointed out time and again, cisgender women are going to be under threat if they don’t conform to some nebulous standard of how a woman is “supposed” to look.

Yep. And a similar issue with discerning men from trans men if, like in the UK, trans men have to use the women’s bathroom, except it’s delivering the phantom problem the TERs were scaring people about.

As always, the biggest victims will be cis women who do not meet the standard of “meek, conventional, feminine” presentation that some misogynistic asshat expects. And I further speculate that a large number of athletes will be victimized by this, particularly if they are “too good (or too Black) to be girls.”

Cis women will definitely be harmed. But I think it’s important to place the harm to trans women and trans girls first here.

Transphobia is important because it harms trans people first and worst.

Follow up on Senator Tartaglione’s disgusting vote.

Absolutely. I think that harm will and has come to cis women because of bathroom bans and the like, but we should not need that fact to oppose these bigoted laws.

Or to put it another way, just because they’re using an indiscriminate area-affect weapon, doesn’t change who they’re aiming it at.

… Even so, many women display an externally visible protrusion of the thyroid cartilage, an “Adam’s apple”, to varying degrees which are usually minor, and this should not normally be viewed as a medical disorder.

The Adam’s apple, in relation with the thyroid cartilage which forms it, helps protect the walls and the frontal part of the larynx, including the vocal cords (which are located directly behind it).

So, by extension, “Real women” don’t have functioning vocal chords and are thus silent?

That tracks, ideologically.

As bad as you think The Handmaid’s Tale is, there’s always deeper they can sink.

(Yes, I know that’s not what she means, but that’s just because she’s wrong and stupid.)

It’s never just hatred, they gotta monetize that hate! Apparently Republican voters have infinite wealth because every single one of these fuckers has some sort of grift going, so the financial drain to be a good, loyal cultist must be unrelenting.

I could see having a Nancy Mace signature for a bathroom, but this is the wrong place for it. You don’t want people to aim their pee at the door.

The TRANSparency Project

Welcome to the TRANSparency Project — a community-driven initiative to help track, understand, and change the elected representatives’s stance on trans rights across Great Britain.

This form allows you to share information about a Member of Parliament, the Scottish Parliament, the Senedd based on your interactions or observations. Whether you’ve spoken with them directly, received a response to a letter, or seen a public statement or action, your input helps build a more transparent and accountable democracy.

We’re especially interested in how MPs are engaging with the public and whether their positions are shifting over time. You can indicate if your experience was positive, neutral, or negative—and explain why.

That’s Wes Streeting’s legacy right there. Judas Iscariot is a more sympathetic figure, at least he only betrayed one person.

Of course not; we need to pee on their shoes. /sarcasm
