It’s more like America has lost touch with what radicalism used to be.
To put it simply
Reformism is slow progress within the limits of the law.
Radicalism is fast progress within the limits of the law, if possible.
Revolutions are what happen if the law blocks most or all progress.
Technically there is no such thing as the radical right, including religious radicalism. It is more accurately called Reactionism.
The Democrats are mostly reformist, the Republicans are reactionary. There is some crossover with radicalism on the (relative) far left fringe of the Democratic Party though.

Some dipshits try this every time, too. Before any credible information gets out, it’s “well, it must be a trans person”… and I can actually count on one figure the times that turned out to be true.
Given the location, though, I would not be at all surprised if it turned out he had Aryan Nation ties.

Even if somehow this person was trans that doesn’t mean anything beyond that this specific person was disturbed. Clearly people are trying to paint this as a general thing that trans people are a problem.
I really hope that they have nothing to do with trans or LGBT

Oh yeah, absolutely, and it’s total bullshit. What we do know about mass shootings is that the vast majority of them are committed by white, straight, often conservative men.
And some people will believe it’s a trans person, no matter what the actual facts are, because it reinforces their worldview that trans people pose some kind of danger to “real” people. Of course, the opposite is true - it’s trans people who are in very real danger from lots of cisgendered people who are so fucking fragile that they can’t imagine anyone being different from them.

Gender segregated chess is a thing because lots of dudes in the chess world are absolutely misogynistic dicks and take every opportunity to punch down at women when they can.
Some of the replies are good…
My BFF is a chess coach for kids, and she does all she can to encourage the girls in her classes, but that misogynistic stuff starts very young, and many girls end up getting out because of the treatment they get from the boys they are playing against. She calls boys out for doing this stuff, and that helps, but far too many male coaches just let that shit fly.

And yet somehow nobody ever wants to take advantage of their magical talents. Like trans women are all far too athletic to fairly compete against cis women, but heaven forbid they should be soldiers or fire fighters or anything. They might as well admit the problem is noticing different people exist.
