At least she resigned. Sam Brownback never did.

Frank Hester, who has donated £10m to the Tories, reportedly said the MP made him want to “hate all black women”.

Mr Hester apologised for making “rude” comments but said his words “had nothing to do with her gender nor colour of skin”.

I don’t know that this is politics, not exactly.

I care not one iota for the monarchy, because as an institution it has done all sorts of damage to the world.

But Kate is a person, and human beings have my sympathy, because I abhor suffering. Fuck Cancer! I hope she’s OK, and I hope her kids are as OK as possible given that this must be incredibly frightening for them. They are so young!

Budget day and employers are faced with paying more taxes. Guessing that comes from laying off employees?

Jenrick was never really on my radar before the Conservative leadership election, he was just there when there were plenty more Tory arseholes to be enraged by but… wow, what an arsehole. He is a Trumper as well and seems to be copying right out of that playbook by spreading far right conspiracy theories (i won’t link to muskrat’s platform).

What happened to all the special economic zones that were going to kickstart UK world trade after Brexit?

On the bright side, at least we missed the Bell Riots, too?

Well, we got a much more quiet ongoing punishing of homelessness instead, so I don’t know if that’s win?

She likes to cite The fact that her political heroine is Margaret Thatcher, but analysts have said clearly shows that Badenoch’s ideas still need work.

Fixed it

Toot (? Whatever the heck they are on mastadon) from one of my favorite authors:

Full text:

REMINDER FOR NON-BRITS:

Kemi Badenoch, the new leader of the Consertive party, is a woman of colour.

But she’s also:
— a climate change denialist
— denies institutional racism exists
— a militant transphobe who wants to strip transgender people of civil rights
— believes the British Empire was beneficial to its colonies
— opposes marriage equality

… She’s the most right-wing leader the party’s ever had.

(TLDR: She’s the antithesis of Kamala Harris.)
