Oh, no need to apologize for that… the political scene over there is just as bad as here, without a doubt and I do share your cynicism. Like you, even when there are hopeful things happening, there is a lot of bullshit coming from the partys that are supposed to be more people-centered. And the media landscape is such that it’s hard to see a path forward for anything progress in either of our countries. There was a story recently about how progressives are out-raising the establishment dems (AOC, Kat up in Chicago, Mamdani, etc), but we’ll see if the establishment dems will line up behind them as they are effective in electrifying the base, or if they’ll do all they can to undermine them and put in centrist candidates that are sure to lose.
Corbyn is an unlikely subject for a cult of personality. He is a mild-mannered man, a touch peculiar, but fundamentally just a decent person with principles that he tends to stick to—which marks him as a wild aberration within British politics.
I like that way of putting it. It’s shocking in its simple truth.
This was considered in the past, but the government backed down when it was pointed out that a ban on VPN use would cripple lots of business networks.
Though the UK is stupid enough to try this, so the only solution is to make sure you have one before they try to obstruct them. That’s what I think, anyway, from my vantage point over here in Denmark.
The video of the aftermath is quite distressing. The man he attacked is motionless in a heap and the people arriving aren’t helping most likely because Yaxley is behaving in a threatening and scary manner.
