I cannot for the life of me concoct a scenario where that makes any sense at all…

I can imagine capitalist solutions to slums but they are all modest proposals in one form or another. :grimacing:

A toy chihuahua might be more aggressive than a Great Dane, but if the two get in a fight, my money is on the Great Dane.

I’d love to see the masses rise up and starve out those who profit from the misery of others. It’s only took a few months before Elno was crying sweet, sweet billionaire tears… :smiling_imp:

But he cautioned against being overly precious about the value of deeply understanding one’s code, which is no longer necessary to ensure that it works.

It would be crazy if in an auto factory people…"

I was expecting the next line to be “understand how cars work,” because that’s the proper analogy, based on the previous sentiment. It’s the equally stupid parallel. (Though the given analogy is also stupid - and wrong. I mean, of course they’re measuring to make sure angles are correct - i.e. have quality control. They don’t just assume the machines are doing what they’re supposed to, even though they fully understand and have control of every step and aspect of the process, unlike with genAI code. Also, the idea that you don’t have to have a deep understanding to ensure that it works is only correct for a very strange and limited value of “works.” And of course when it stops working, you’d be totally screwed.)
