Cagney acted in gangster flicks during the Pre-Code era, during which enforcement of some language was lax. I have no idea if his character said āhellā during that time.
I hear you, but he did specify the 1950s, so the code was very much in force!
Yesssssssssss I knonnnoooowwwwwwww. Iām just saying there was an opportunity for Cagney to say the unsayable at some time in his career.
Doanāt figet! Dereās also DeNiro in Taxi Dryvuh.
You tawkinā ta me?
I love dialects and accents, and imitating them.
Bonus:
I had a cat that would jump into a full bathtub and walk around like that: back paws walking and front paws gently paddling to keep her head out of water. She didnāt do it often, but she did it more than once, on purpose. Very unusual cat.
Thatās only The Cutest Derp EvAr!
That sounds familiar, and itās making me wonder about reincarnation. If I saw a cat doing that Iād be tempted to squint and ask, āAunt Nettie, is that you? Slow blink once for yesā¦ā Photos by Charles āTeenieā Harris reflect when swimming like that used to be common.
That is one of the finest, most edifying videos I have ever seen. I tip my hat to you.
Iāve never heard of these animals before. Amazing! Some of their vocalizations sound like house cats.
Closely related to elephants??
A website with another video where one of them sounds a bit like a dog:
