My cat loves to trap me with his naps when iām working remotely
āLilā Tony. What the hell ya doinā?ā
āI tolā ya Iād find us some rope, Butch. Now come on, gimme a paw here. Weāre bustinā outta this joint tonite.ā
Apologies to my comrades across the water for the awful and cliched 1950ās Cagney accent.
It is actually the only US accent I know.
Personally, I blame my paternal grandmother.
It would have been āheckā instead of āhellā in those days.
Just keeping it real!
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.
But, damnā¦how brilliant
I seem to remember a funny exchange at TOP about Kate Bush Day. Iām thinkingā¦Iām thinking @mindysan33 was involved in the exchange?
eta: maybe it was @Millie_Fink?
Cagney acted in gangster flicks during the Pre-Code era, during which enforcement of some language was lax. I have no idea if his character said āhellā during that time.
I hear you, but he did specify the 1950s, so the code was very much in force!
Yesssssssssss I knonnnoooowwwwwwww. Iām just saying there was an opportunity for Cagney to say the unsayable at some time in his career.
Doanāt figet! Dereās also DeNiro in Taxi Dryvuh.
You tawkinā ta me?
I love dialects and accents, and imitating them.
Bonus:
I had a cat that would jump into a full bathtub and walk around like that: back paws walking and front paws gently paddling to keep her head out of water. She didnāt do it often, but she did it more than once, on purpose. Very unusual cat.
