Remembrance Day in the UK (Nov. 11) is quite a big thing in my nearest town, Newport Pagnell.
People dress up in period clothes, there’s a fair in the high street, etc.
There is also Knitting Nana, whose identity remaiins a closely guarded secret, even though most of us know who she is.
She often leaves small knitted gifts around the local park, inside see-through plastic bags, for local children - a knitted sheep, carrot, dog and, yes, even a little knitted penguin.
