Sort of the textbook example of a โ€œleap of faithโ€! I was worried about the last one, who kept trying to climb the back wall of the nest box, but then I was all โ€œYay!โ€ when it made it.

Clouded Leopards. Taxonomists say that, since they have no recognized subspecies, they are the only members of their kind. The adults meow and the youngest cubs chirp like baby chicks.

This raised questions, so today I learned that several species of pinnipeds, cetaceans and birds sleep with half of their brain while the other half remains awake and alert to conditions like nearby predators, oxygen levels and maintaining steady flight (yes, birds even sleep during long migratory flights!) However, it seems the only seals that can do this are eared seals like sea lions. Iโ€™m not sure of the species but the one in the video looks like a โ€œtrueโ€ seal (no ears), so maybe heโ€™s just vibinโ€™ down there rather than actually dozed off?

They can spend several days at sea foraging for food and even sleep underwater for up to 30 minutes at a time.
