Damn, that’s interesting… it’s carrying forward long-standing divisions that have long existed in the black community - in addition to the class divisions with the black community, there is also the nationalist vs. the pan-Africanist view. And if the GOP can indeed weaponize that…
I do think it’s very important to grok that the African American community is NOT a monolith and never has been. This phenomenon is a good reminder of that.
Squats in Berlin have a very long tradition by this point, but living in Berlin is now deeply desirable. Gentrification comes to us all?

OTOH, I’d quibble with Ben Spielberg’s initial sentence. The recent spate of “Warren vs billionaires” stories look very much like a manufactured narrative to me, produced in response to an increasing awareness of Warren’s corporate-friendly centrism.
