This is likely to be a referendum on Trump, and especially his handling of the coronavirus. This may involve other issues, e.g. in 2018 Trump scaremongered about the migrant caravan, and inspired a massacre shortly before the election. I’m sure for 2020 he can find a similar target, with similar effects…
He’s more than 10 points down in approval rating. He’s more than 10 points down in approval of his handling of the coronavirus. He’s not going to improve that by inspiring another massacre in America. Maybe if he can do it in another country, and then blame foreigners…
