Actively maintained, wilful self-delusion.

This isn’t ignorance, it’s complicity.

Reminder that this was an unnecessary detonation deliberately conducted in a Black neighbourhood for the purpose of publicity and intimidation.

One of the most overtly fucked up things that Americans accept as “normal”:

Unions are not things that bosses “allow”; they are things that worker power creates.

If you need “permission” to form a union, you are not going to end up with a real one. If the union does not have the power to force concessions from the bosses, it isn’t a proper union.

Unions aren’t a mechanism for negotiation; they’re a force in class warfare.

The thing about the LAPD explosion is that it should have been a national scandal even if everything had gone perfectly to plan. The entire thing was a deliberate act of racist intimidation.

I recall from when I was studying the history of the Australian welfare state: the early 20th C ALP drafters of those laws were quite explicit about their desire to construct benefits and the language around them in such a way as to prevent them from being seen as stigmatising.

Not charity, rights. For all, not just the “deserving poor”.
