Remember when Bernie tested the waters on backing candidates that are not pro-choice?
PPAF has not endorsed anyone in 2018, but has spoken against Lipinski including citing their rating scheme on candidates. Emily’s List both endorses and raises funds for primary candidates, and has been silent on this one.

But that isn’t what I was talking about, and I don’t think it’s what Marx was talking about, either.
Lenin et al are a different matter, but Marxist ≠ Marxist-Leninist. And even with Lenin and Stalin, I don’t think they saw the petit bourgeoisie as “the real enemy”; the ruling class and the haut bourgeosie were the primary opponents.
What I was getting at is: people tend to act in accordance with their class interests.
The middle class in normal circumstances tend to be relatively conservative and passive. The thing most likely to motivate them to action is the fear of losing their middle class status.
Unfortunately, some of them tend to react by punching down as fascists. But for others, the situation can prompt them to identify with the working class and act for their mutual benefit.
