This is also why Bernie isn’t a Democrat and the primary reason why he pissed the party off. He’s playing the game of never fundraising for the party and instead spreading his brand, which is why he can spend so much time speaking to people.
I think the people John Oliver talked to even said it got worse because of Citizens United when he did he piece on it years ago.
This story bugs me because everyone is questioning his legal standing for running for governor since he moved away and came back recently. It looks like he will be fine, but he will be fine by a technicality because his voter registration didn’t lapse. It’s a perfectly valid concern to have for the party and something the GOP will sue over and have a chance to win.
