Bernie fucks up again.
(overhyped clickbait headline, but the basic story is still “Bernie criticises the idea of Trump staff facing personal social consequences”)
Flirting with the forced-birth crowd, endorsing Russiagate nonsense, failure to call for ICE abolition, now this…
Bernie’s burning his cred with the left, and it’s beginning to add up. Generational change is needed.

OTOH, it’s notable that every one of those things is an example of Bernie doing a little bit of what the establishment Dems do a lot of.
Reading centrist Twitter is like having a time machine. It’s full of political analysis that would have been valid…if it had been written years ago.
I do not know how to communicate with people who are so disconnected from reality.
This post in part inspired by the fact that the BB centrists are responding to the Kennedy retirement by once again attempting to blame Sarandon/Bernie/Stein/Nader for American fascism.
…plus every mainstream political pundit continuing with their policy-free bullshit horserace analysis, all the while pretending that the USA is a functioning democracy.
Y’all are months away from the Reichstag Fire.
There’s a “conservative” at work that is one of the few folks I can talk politics with. He voted for 45 because he did not feel he could vote for Hillary (but her Emails…)
But, I did get him to agree that the Mainstream Democrats of today are the Republican’s of Reagan’s era (just with some softer stances on social issues). He knows I’m a Pragmatic Socialist and today’s convo started after he was the first Person who had heard of Ocasio-Cortez winning in NY.
While he won’t be attending any DSA rallies, I do think he has been moved off his default Republican stance and is defitiely looking at the players.
-
US elections are already heavily rigged.
-
The GOP are going to continue making that worse as rapidly as they can.
-
The only Constitutional check on that process apart from the rigged elections themselves is the Supreme Court.
-
The GOP controls the Supreme Court.
-
The 2020 election is already lost.
What exactly is it about this sequence that is hard to understand?
