I saw the basics of this coming during the campaign. To me, it was obvious that there was a high risk of Trump winning, and it was obvious that the TrumpGOP were genuine fascists.
But Charlottesville stepped up the pace. That’s when the fascists launched their push for total lockdown.
Those people obviously have no clue what they’re talking about. We did indeed have a presidential candidate that promised ponies, but it wasn’t Bernie.
Were it not for the constraints of twitter, that last one would have a caveat: there’s still a very slight chance of a last-minute impeachment, but it’ll be too late to matter if it happens.
That could have been useful, but instead they chose to frame it as if the problem were just that the border patrol was insufficiently efficient and effective.
You can’t resist fascists if you accept their framing.
