And complaining about how awful every was the year before they got kicked out but they still spend $400,000 suing.
Based on that interview, they were probably assholes to all the staff, all the time. If they’d been nice people, maybe the club would have accepted the vestibular migraine excuse

Yeah agreed… idk but I do find their story hard to believe. Especially when she starts talking about how she puts water in her wine. Like she wasn’t even accused of anything? Just something seems off there.

You are right! Any time a restaurant cuts off a patron, it means they are acting out. Alcohol is high profit and even a posh place like club 33 is going to have an eye on the bottom line.
If she really only had 2 glasses of wine and they cut her off, it means she demonstrated previously that she can’t be trusted with any more alcohol.
If a restaurant cuts someone off, the appropriate response is to accept that and finish the meal without bitching. It’s not like she couldn’t leave and walk 500 ft and buy another drink somewhere outside the club.
The way the club reacted to her having “two glasses of wine” and him being collapsed on a bench, it wasn’t the first time they’d dealt with these two drinking until they were falling down.
Or maybe their breathtaking entitlement pissed off someone who was legit famous and rich? If several more powerful and rich patrons has complained about their behavior, the club would side with them over two nobodies who own a golf course in a desert.
They are gross and a really good example of why most people shouldn’t accumulate wealth. They’ve lost any civility they ever had

Former waiter here. Yes. We counted the drinks and looked at the behaviour. If someone was acting like they’ve had more booze than we delivered (e.g. was half-sozzled before they walked in), they’d be cut off. It wasn’t something we did for fun; customers hated it and it could get heated. The behaviour had to cross some pretty clear lines.
It’s also possible the manager told the staff to cut them off to shoo them out. I was never in that situation, but after reading the interview it’s pretty easy to imagine a manager wanting to send a message of “go away, you won’t have fun here”.

My takeaway was that even if you were to accept that every word of their story is true
and things went down exactly as they described, they’re still entitled assholes who deserved to lose their membership. And the jury apparently agreed.
