Too long didn’t listen version:

The FBI has coined a new term for this type of individual - Nihilistic Violent Extremists (NVEs). This makes me SO happy, because it indicates that law-enforcement are listening to researchers on the ground and are no longer considering these groups “Neo-nazis”, “white supremacist”, et .

That’s from this tweet:

The African continent is experiencing a remarkable geological transformation right before our eyes. Scientists have confirmed that East Africa is gradually splitting apart, with visible evidence of this continental fracture already appearing. This extraordinary process could eventually create a new ocean, forever changing the map of Africa as we know it.

{I just love that this newspaper has categorized the story as Home Improvement.}

TBF, it’s certainly a case in which work is being done on our collective home. Dunno if it’s going to be an improvement for anyone living near this rift, however many legs they may have.

This is unquestionably true. Yeah, I guess “improvement” is in the eye of the beholder (in the far future, of course)

Africa is obviously rifting apart now, but the one paper I have seen that discusses the future of the continents is Scotese, 2021, and he thinks the continued motion of the African plate will ultimately close it up again. I’d love to know more about how long it is supposed to last but haven’t seen anything more.

Also does it seem ridiculous to anyone else when people talk about the impact on trade routes for things that happen over centuries at a minimum? There are so many possibilities for population and technology and now even environments to change, how can anyone guess what will or won’t be important? I just hope there will still be people who can trade.

That doesn’t mean that California will suddenly stop issuing license plates or anything, in fact the solution is much less exciting than you may hope — the state will soon shuffle its license plate recipe up a bit. Currently, license plates have one number followed by three letters followed by three numbers. The new recipe will be three numbers followed by three letters followed by one number.

Assuming the current wave of insane restructuring doesn’t do away with license plates altogether because they are forced upon free citizens by the deep state or something.
