A little Greenlandic history.

Egede, born in northern Norway, opened up Greenland as a Danish colony in the early 18th Century.

He got royal backing, in what was then the united kingdom of Denmark-Norway, to explore Greenland, hoping to renew contact with long-lost Norse settlers. However, he did not find any - the inhabitants were all Inuit.

humans are wasteful. They grab as many colors as they can, and all the other materials in a gif are left to fend for themselves.

This is a very highly specialised form of interesting, but I found it fascinating:

The film is from the 1940s, but the techniques are at least medieval and probably prehistoric.

very interesting. I wonder if the hedgerows reputation suffered as a result of the battle of normandy.

That’s a thing I wouldn’t even have known existed. Hedges, yeah, and bocage, I knew they exist, but never would’ve known that keeping them up was like that.

Very interesting. Pity they didn’t encounter any bustles. While I doubt he’d have been alarmed, I’d like to see his reaction.
