It beats the pitch drop experiment (1927), thatā€™s for sure.

Last night, I dreamt I was shopping in a grocery store - there were no masks. There was a man and a woman with their four- or five-year-old boy shopping; they were white, and and the wife kept talking about the insurrection, and how it was Antifa that caused it (we seemed to end up in the same aisle a lot). At that point, I couldnā€™t take it and told her, ā€œLady, excuse me, but there IS no Antifa, okay?!ā€ Her eyes got so huge, and we got into a short ā€œyes there is/no there isnā€™t!ā€ thing for a few seconds, then she grabbed her son and skittered away to the next aisle.

Iā€™m kinda late to find this story, but itā€™s new to me:

Capitalism at its finest: outright warfare. Enough to stop eating guacamole.

Old history now, but a pretty good writeup, and seemingly fair, acknowledging that itā€™s been overdramatized in the past, about Ross Perotā€™s quixotic rescue mission in Iran:

Iā€™m in the midst of cleaning out Safariā€™s reading list, as I no longer have 24 GB of RAM to waste on cruft.

For now, however, Iā€™ll just mention one special find from today: a 37-page classified ā€œDictionary of Terms, Expressions, Names, and Abbreviations Used by Terrorist Subversives,ā€ prepared by DEOPSā€™ Specialized Delegation of Social Order in December 1973.

ā€œTORTURERS ā€“ Expression utilized by subversives and by communists in general, to designate those who directly and indirectly effect or contribute to the imprisonment of terrorist subversivesā€ (p. 33)

Itā€™s called fat.

Actually, I got curious myself and Googled ā€œhow are sausage strips made?ā€

And my son, when I told him, told me it made him think of this:

Addendum: I want to have a creative collective and call it ā€œFunctional Ingredientsā€.

Oh, there are so many choices. In my glue box alone I have

Five minute epoxy
Thirty minute epoxy
Silver conductive epoxy
Metal epoxy
Urethane glue
Elmerā€™s glue
Aileenā€™s Tacky Glue
Wood glue
Bookbinderā€™s glue
A thick version of rubber cement
Regular super glue
Thick super glue

Then thereā€™s duct tape, scotch tape, painterā€™s tape, rubber bands, etc.

I missed this:

So I thought this was a new thread. It was fun trying to figure out why youā€™d posted it. Once I got to ā€œIndustrial and culinary applicationsā€ I had to laugh.
SMH!
