I remember seeing these things when I was a little kid, and just being kind of confused by them. Perhaps these are the kinds of things that adults find more engaging than children. I found the behind-the-scenes story of their development very interesting. No mention of the bird in Mary Poppins, strangely.

Ah, yes, as I watched further I saw that she’s in Toronto and that yes, they are electrical substations, at least the Toronto ones. There’s one in my sorta general neighbourhood that looks like a nice little bungalow.
