Just saw a medium-small, brown, striped bird hovering. I guess it’s not just hummingbirds.

P.S. Whatbird suggests a few species of thrush. Based on the paintings, Louisiana Waterthrush looks like the best fit.

I remember as a young lad of 9 or 10 getting the “Live and Sleazy” album by the Village People and my much old siblings in backwoods Montana surely understood the double entendres. (As I quickly picked up on it as well)

Yup. I remember my mum explaining to me what YMCA was really about (in an age-appropriate way).

A much greater percentage of the 1970s straight populace knew exactly what the songs were about, and didn’t care, than was imagined by the powers that be.

Yes. I remeber there being a lot more “gayness” in popular culture in the 70s than there was in the 80s. Or even the 90s really.

Interesting interview. I admit I only listed to half the snippet you uploaded on the RIP thread, before saying “it’s not for me” – too intense and bombastic. IMO.

So I’m going to go out on a limb and state:

  • most likely the kid is white
  • he’s well-to-do, but not so much that his parents have $36m lying around
