Begin Bachelor’s degree at 18, finish at 21, complete doctorate at 24. Many of the great scientists did their best work early in their careers.
Feynman was working on the Manhattan Project before he finished his PhD.

Depressed alcoholic just hitting early middle age? And you want to shout at her to pull her head out and deal with her shit, and she totally doesn’t do it? That’s the realistic part.
They were working with older people, presumably. There’s a whole ecosystem of research and academia that might be hard to show on TV when the budget for speaking roles is limited.
One of the things I like about British shows is that the supervisors and higher echelon in general are usually age appropriate. And the women don’t wear stilettos to their law enforcement job.
I remember on Castle they actually had the female lead say wearing high heels made her “feel empowered”. Cringe.
Sure, given frequent professional foot massage and pedicure.
That’s actually not enough to undo the damage. It might not be anywhere near as bad as foot-binding, but it’s on the same continuum. Excruciatingly painful, and hobbles a woman drastically, all because the male gaze likes how the legs look longer and more toned, and the butt pushes out.
Might of been working without an establisment support network.
Finally got around to seeing the Death of Stalin… it’s really great. I love Steve Buscemi as Khrushchev…
One of the better pictures I’ve seen in the last couple of years. I like my humour dark.
How meta!
OK, finished the whole thing. Would it be a spoiler to mention that Season 3 is really tragic and sad? Even more than the first two? Or should we be WARNING people, if they want to see Jessica Jones with a halfway happy ending, stop after the first two seasons
I still loved it, as messy and complicated as it was. I wish someone were able to pick up the Jones/Cage/Daredevil/Punisher pieces and continue.
Iron Fist? Forget that guy.
They would have had to … um … make him Asian and have someone creatively redo the origami story.
RELATED: Oh ho ho…what have we here? Season 3 of Legion?
They better give me some insight explaining why he became such a fantastic douche by the end of season 2.
Dr. Strange was originally Asian and then they retconned him to be white instead
I didn’t get that from the whole season. The Jon Hamm voiceover thing about the delusion that starts as an innocent white egg, that felt like bullshit misdirection to me. Jon Hamm-voice is the voice of The Devil in that season, for me. Of the Fourouk variety.
That I have no issue with. My gripe is the Brock Turner Get Out of Jail Free Card at the end of the season.
ETA: Okay, first episode down. We’re off to a good start, with some interesting new characters.
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
Now watching…
I’ve been an Armistead Maupin fan for thirty years. I’m only one and a half episodes in, but so far, it’s very good. It does the books justice; good cast, good script, well directed.
The only downside is that I find myself having to pause it every now and then whenever a character is about to make a major relationship fuckup. My tolerance for interpersonal drama is pretty low these days, even when fictionalised and vicarious.
But I’m watching it anyway.
