Fingers crossed…
Live action. I mean, they can do a lot with that these days, but it’s sort of a pity it’s not animated, seeing how the comic series celebrated graphic story styles from around the world.
Okay.
Legion season 3, ep 2 down, and they’ve addressed the elephant in the room. Now I know this was intentional, and not just indulgence on the writers’ part. I withdraw my ire.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3…strikes so close to home. The new diabolical features in the costumes are ghastly.
Almost Famous. and I’m just realizing that I’ve never seen this extended cut before-- even though I’ve had the disc lying sround in my collection for years. Oh, that’s right-- my stereo shorted out, and rock music sounds horrible through TV speakers.
The person whose life that movie is based on also wrote the book Fast Times at Ridgemont High - a true story. He went undercover as a high school student to write it. So afterward you can watch that movie as a double feature.
(The book is out of print and goes for a pretty penny, but if you can find a copy, it’s amazing).
Really? I thought that was Vernor Vinge?
Cameron Crowe wrote the book…
One of the few sporty things I still care about.
Stage One tonight, but it won’t get really interesting until they hit the serious mountains. Fortunately, that’ll be fairly early this year; the first Category 1 mountain finish is Stage 6. No HC’s until the Col de Tourmalet in Stage 14, though.
Far from Home.
Tony Stark is the asshole that does not stop shitting for all the entitled manchildren he goads into turning supervillain.
Never stop being a giant dick, Tony!
I really enjoyed it. And they really set up Phase 4 in the credits.
Watched If Beale Street Could Talk last night… Berry Jenkins is a god.
Okay, I’m watching Spider-Man: Homecoming, and while I’m enjoying it, why are all the music choices from 50 years ago? Like, a good deal of the pop cues were old when I was in high school. Granted, it was stuff we still listened to, like The English Beat, but know what I mean?
There’s something about Peter Parker’s Spiderman that’s always going to be set in the Sixties. I think it keeps the space open for the Spiderverse.
Does he head off to the desert to study ant colonies?
welcome back J K Simmons. we missed you.
(netflix)
Kinda like Mad Max but without the nihilism and violence
My daughter just sent me this, saying how surprised she was that she and Bezos had anything in common: https://amp.businessinsider.com/jeff-bezos-binges-netflix-stranger-things-in-one-day-2019-7
Now I want Eggos.
I bet he watched it on a weekday and cancelled all his meetings too.
