I’ve been playing around with silk painting and nature printing for a few months. My latest attempt came out pretty. I painted the areas where I wanted ferns first:
Then painted resist onto fern fronds and stamped them onto the green yellow spots.
Then painted over everything with darker colors:
This reminds of batik. Which I love.

Don’t worry, they’ll get their features painted back in. I might have to use an old eyeliner brush, lol.
A friend from Sydney has taken up beekeeping this year, and is intending to give away lots of jars of honey as Christmas gifts. And he’s asked me to make him a bunch of honey-dippers to go with them:
All made from the fallen branches of the gumtrees on my land.
Another half-dozen still to go.
