Not exactly simultaneously, but only a couple of days between them.
Big thanks @KeybillyJefe , they’re lovely.

Please, PLEASE blur these with spoilers! Not everyone gets mail at the same time.

That’s why the second one is behind the first one, but okay.

Not everyone receives mail in the same order, either. I got the “No Kings” card already, but not the fish. @KeybillyJefe already mentioned sending out two in quick succession and specifically said “No spoilers” in the same comment. Please respect those of us who enjoy the surprise. Blurring spoilers is very easily done here.

Simply asking is quite enough; there is no need for a lecture.

Somewhere in the boxes of stuff I’ve yet to go through, I have a huge collection of QSL cards. I used to be quite active on the ham bands. I loved getting cards, but boy did I hate filling them out.

Clearly it is not enough to simply ask, though, since I and others have asked for blurring spoilers previously on this thread.

Here’s a suggestion, intended constructively: Start a new topic for postcards (perhaps with “spoilers” in the title). Anyone who doesn’t want to see them can just mute/ignore that topic.

ETA: @KeybillyJefe, do you have a Patreon or Venmo or some way by which I can contribute to your postage or materials costs? I would be glad to throw in.

My workplace had team-building event where we built Pinewood race cars. One category of race cars required following the traditional Boy Scout rules but another allowed for more creative builds. My team built a vehicle that was a slow-moving cryogenic chamber which opened up and revealed our company founder standing up and waving to the crowd. It used a small Arduino-compatible controller and some small hobby servos. Good times!

I’m getting Severance / Lumon vibes here. Walt even looks somewhat like Irving.

When do you build the full size version and freeze your boss? Asking for a friend.

Walt Disney?! The rumors were true!

thanks for that vid.
Wm. Blake’s work has always been an inspiration for me.
while i do not pour nitric acid over copper plates (oi! toxic fumes, ahoy!), the printing is similar - in that i use both intaglio (etching) plates and relief (letterpress) plates on the same press!
i did have to make certain modifications to be able to register the impressions. have to be able to make the front and back line up (and resemble straightness), or to make multiple colors register.
new card went out with a two color, one-pass etching front over the one color back, plus one color stamp (all letterpress)
there is a card in the works right now that will be 3/1 (3 color front over one color back), plus 2 color stamp.
i have been very busy in the printshop.
tell your friends.

The story is told in some circles that there is a renaissance manual for painters (the obvious candidate is Cennini, but I haven’t been able to find it in there) where the instructions for preparing orpiment start

To prepare fine orpiment for painting, take your least favourite apprentice and set them to grinding and mulling it well. …

Youre-welcome-Glitter-Gifs11
I was glad to find it for both of us, and anyone else here oh goodie
I knew the techniques would be archaic, and suspected some might be scary (toxic fumes! great! fool49 panic )…I also knew they’d be fascinating. Writing backwards! Didn’t know about that, tho it makes sense.

We both love everything about your cards and stamps. Thanks so much for making and sharing them with us!

The rumors are that that already happened decades ago, which was the inspiration for this. That and the news that the boss will soon be returning to my workplace (in a physical form) after decades of absence.

Not just writing backward, but doing it so elegantly!
