Always good to remember that he was governor of the Bank of England (and became a British citizen). He definitely has more cultural ties to Europe than your average Canadian, which might be a huge advantage for the country in this coming era.

Having been involved in the Brexit shitshow, he also probably knows how the EU works better than any American diplomat.

That’s nastily smart of Kagame. Facing international condemnation of his quiet invasion of a neighbouring country, picking a fight with Belgium and accusing them of Interfering in DRC politics is a smart distraction technique.

I think that he is a very, very smart man, and that’s hidden behind the bland banker exterior. BA in economics from Harvard and MA and PhD from Oxford.
