So exploding oil pipelines, rail disasters, grid disruptions, broken submarines, and reactor incidents. How much work did the CIA and Mossad do to sneak Stuxnet into Iran’s centrifuges? I thought China was the king of “get them to pwn themselves by buying our backdoored crap.”?

Yeah, there is another existing one already…do we need two?

(I can see why the other might not stand out as one. Clever, long-ish titles can be fun, but also misleading.)

I was wondering that too, but maybe the other is more narrow? :woman_shrugging:

I dunno… this place is very much…

I’m not sure what is meant by “commercial fiction” – is it what’s often called “mass market”?

‘Mass market’ is a specific paperback book size in 99.9% of the book world. The ones who fit on those spindle displays in train stations/airports are mass market.

‘Trade paperback’ is a book who’s taller & wider.

The biggest player is a company called EviCore by Evernorth, which is hired by major American insurance companies and provides coverage to 100 million consumers — about 1 in 3 insured people. It is owned by the insurance giant Cigna.

A ProPublica and Capitol Forum investigation found that EviCore uses an algorithm backed by artificial intelligence, which some insiders call “the dial,” that it can adjust to lead to higher denials. Some contracts ensure the company makes more money the more it cuts health spending. And it issues medical guidelines that doctors have said delay and deny care for patients.

I can’t help reading that as EvilCore.

I don’t care about Altman, but I hate that Musk is in a place to enforce his grudges against anyone. The man is a disgrace second only to Trump, he deserves to be kicked out of his companies with his security clearances revoked, and instead he gets to play as the MAGA version of a tech genius. May he be crushed by a falling letter X.

Oh yeah, totally… but I think this is a case of leopard face eating or at the very least an internal class fight… I want them all to lose all their monies, end up in poverty and want, and leave us the fuck alone. I’m so sick of the whole billionaire class and their attempts to fuck the rest of us over just so they can get just a little bit richer… I’m tired of their fucking arrogance and their attempts to make themselves seem smart.

sigh
