All these government departments using LLMs to do their work are really going to permanently screw up the functioning of the government (at least until a thorough purging takes place at some point in the future), which I presume is the point.
There is so much repetitive stupidity going on these days. I couldn’t tell if this was new or a re-post.
I think that’s an added benefit. Transfer of capital to the oligarchs is, I think, the primary objective. Disciplining the intellectual, scientific, and artistic communities by starving them is also an important objective. But making the wealthy scum who paid for your government even richer is the primary aim.

A candidate for an open seat on the Detroit public school district’s board withdrew her name from consideration as questions arose about the use of ChatGPT in her application materials.
The Detroit Public Schools Community District confirmed that Traci Ricks withdrew her application on Wednesday. She had been scheduled to be interviewed for the position by the board Thursday evening.

Well, say what you will of “AI”, but it’s capable of demonstrating Betteridge’s law of headlines quite neatly.
So, to limit these fabrications, he focuses on a specific setting called “temperature.”
“If the temperature of AI is 1, they hallucinate,” he explained. “For the medical field, it has to be 0.3. That makes them so strict, they cannot fantasize things. They stick to the facts.”
The idea that AI already has a “don’t lie” switch that could completely solve the problem of garbage AI hallucinations making internet searches useless, but that 99% of techbros are too lazy, evil or ignorant to turn it on is disturbingly plausible.
