So. My son received a cashierâs check for $4K from his best friend in Escondido, CA this past Saturday.
Yesterday, he took it straightaway to his bank before 10 am. and stood behind five people who complained about that specific branch, only to be told it was a âbad checkâ. We were both really upset and than I asked if heâd put his acct. # on the back of the check. He hadnât, but then the teller didnât ask if he had an account there. So later, we both went - no one in line, and the teller from the a.m. was still there. Longer story shorter, he got the check deposited.
Thusly, the back property taxes for 2023 were paid off, as well as the current utility bills. The total is a little over $1,700.

Well, we still have 2024 taxes, but we still have a year for that.
Offspring thought he was just going to send $2K. His BFF is a disabled vet ofâŚoh dear, I canât tell the wars apart any moreâŚletâs see, heâs 45, sooo umâŚIraq, yeah, I know for sure it wasnât Afghanistan. He canât walk but he can drive, so he & his stepmom are DRIVING here from Escondido, CA. And theyâve already got their house picked out and ready to buy.

This sounds like good news all around. His best friend is moving cross-country to live nearby? And presumably you already know and like the mom as a friend as well. This could be a very stable new beginning for the two of you.

Iâve never met the stepmom, and have only communicated w/the BFF via my son.
Theyâre both disabled and canât walk, so they ride carts to get around. And he doesnât like to fly, so thatâs why theyâre driving here. The house they bought is a lttle over four miles SW of our house.
Iâm anxious because thatâs how I get now when I get to meet people whoâve I heard about for at least seventeen years but with whom Iâve not personally communicated.

Yes, there are Trump judges in the courts, and if Aileen Cannon types get these cases, Trump may prevail. But most judges are not like her. These actions are clearly illegal and/or unconstitutional, and they WILL be stopped.
Just like the tariffs were not meant to prevail â Trump won that round, âforcingâ Canada and Mexico to take âactionâ on fentanyl â these actions are not meant to prevail. Theyâre meant to flood the zone with shit, confuse and immobilize us. They said theyâd do âShock and Aweâ and thatâs what theyâve done. Nothing here should be surprising.

Stop it with the doomsaying and gloomsaying. Want to make a difference? Give thousands of dollars to Public Citizen, the ACLU, and similar groups. Show up at marches. Put your ass on the line and help protect people from ICE. If youâre safe, do simple symbolic things (like changing your social media pictures) to support people who are not safe. Just like we should not obey in advance, we should not panic in advance either. This is not the end of democracy. That is just what the bad guys want you to think. Get over it and fight.
