A federal crime; if the repubs get rid of the federal judges, there won’t be anyone to try these cases, regardless of whether they are politically motivated or not.

D paraphrased some great wisdom the other night; wish I could remember the source. “For a real coup, the military would have to be in on it.” The way they’ve been fucking over veterans, and so cavalierly playing around w/our national security, it’s doubtful the military would have any response other than, “Go fuck yourself, you spray-tanned orange piece of shit.”

Injured hawk at Philly City Hall saved.
The bird was removed by Barbara Miller, a volunteer with Wildlife In Need, an Pennsylvania-based animal rescue organization. At the time, she was also performing volunteer work for the nonprofit Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. Miller drove the hawk to the center.
According to Mae Axelrod, a spokesperson for the center, the one-year-old male raptor is being cared for at the wildlife clinic there.

The problem for those who embrace this vision of America is that it is not popular. Before the election, only 4% of voters liked Project 2025, and it has not gained in popularity as the dramatic cuts to the government have hurt farmers by killing grain purchases for foreign aid, cut funding for cancer research, and thrown people out of work. Because Republican-dominated counties rely more heavily on government programs than Democratic-dominated counties do, cuts to government services are hitting Republican voters particularly hard.
On Tuesday, Democrat James Andrew Malone won a special election for a state senate seat in a Pennsylvania district that Trump won in November with 57% of the vote. Today, Trump was forced to withdraw New York Republican representative Elise Stefanik’s name from consideration for ambassador to the United Nations out of concern that a Democrat might win her vacant seat, although Trump won her district in 2024 by 21 points.

Just got a “Doctor’s Day” card from UVA. In past years they have given us t-shirts or notepads, or equivalent performative drek. This year they gave $10k grants to 5 local free medical care organizations in our name. I don’t know what the motivation behind this change was, but i very much appreciate the change in orientation they have shown lately. Not all huge organizations suck.
