Good tāsee ye! Pull up a barrel!
You said it well!!!
I havenāt been able to even take time to process let alone actually participate this month. But Iām so glad to be able to see familiar faces talking to each other here. The new place feels lonely and like walking into a random discord
I hope yāall are doing ok though. Iām glad you made it onto the ark of elsewhere.
Iām glad to both be here, and have you around. And as you already know but bares repeating, if you need anything make it known
I hope this is not the death rattle for my beloved BoingBoing.
I will try out the free look with fingers crossed.
Will my bbs food site still work?
Yay! You are here
May I suggest:
We are not going back.
Every time I am there, I think Iām going to feel some nostalgia for it; instead, Iām reminded why I left as soon as I had my own agency.
Chat is going greatā¦
Where? At the BB Substack/Nazi Bar?
All the more glad I never signed up.
I suppose the owners are happy nonetheless, with new subscriptions from at least some of its supposed āmillionsā of viewers.
At least mr. Frauenfelder is quite active there. Didnāt know he was tech supportā¦
In my experience, few things excite a libertarian more than the prospect of making fat stacks (of money).
I got an offer for the first month free if I subscribed to another of his blogs now apparently on Substack. Either Recommendo or Cool Tools.
I didnāt take the offer.
I took the life time free offer because I didnāt want to loose you people. Then I got in here. I will keep it because I want to read the archives.
Kinda curious, anyone have any info as to whats happening with boingboing?
Iām guessing they cratered the community, but i wonder how the main site fairs as a result?
They moved the main site to SubStack and made the āclassic BBā site read-only. I went to check it out before coming here, and it was unusable for what (I think) most of us value, the community, the discussion, the comradery. Itās like a huge group test. No bueno. Have not been back.
It alarms and saddens me how quickly it has dropped out of my daily routine, other than emails it was pretty much my first port of call every day.
