Your ETA literally made me guffaw!

And you see, sir, here is where your argument falls apart:
You see, this is a Victorian Smoking OR Dressing Jacket.
The specialisation into strictly Smoking Jackets only occurred in the second year of Edward’s reign.
Check-mate, I think you’ll find.*
* Okay, today’s theme at the pub was "talking like a posh twat, as we had some Oxford-accented-airs-and-graces-dickhead visit us for an annoying couple of hours. So please disregard everything I have posted, as it’s all a completely obvious pack of lies. But, it was a bit of fun, no?
Wondering if i can finally get this down to zero. Every cloud…
He was invited.
Also, I love the way you spelled that in Olde Englishe.
It’s not the palantir types that I was worried about, they have my information and there is nothing I can do about that.
Making things harder for the unfriendly neighbourhood fascists was the important thing.
As I recall, that’s about as long as it took originally. Whether or not I’m in the same mind to do so these days is an open question, however. It’s definitely possible, though.
A new excuse for bad typing skills!
I will never again devote my energies to building up an audience on a platform whose management can sever my relationship to that audience at will
One of my long-term plans/hopes is to try to come up with a solution for that problem here. I can promise that I’ll never sell out, but at the end of the day I could have a really bad day and just decide to shut it all down.

puts on jacket
“Okay, now I’m all set.”
takes off jacket
Gotta love them Victorians, they thought of everything!
Excuse me while I fetch my Glove-Putting-On-Gloves.
SHANE!
(to quote the eponymous fillum)
Or perhaps “ARTHUR!”
Brief tangent:
I live in a Victorian/Edwardian historic district, on a street called Avery. The biggest house in the neighborhood is a smol mansion a few blocks N named The Avery. All the woodwork is mahogany, and the staircase is positively cinematic.
Could you please point me to this thread? I’d be infinitively grateful.
Folks are using this for that:
That happened to the Reader Rant board on Capitol Hill Blue a while back (waaay back, ~2006 IIRC). It was coaxed back into existence, but I’m not sure it really fired up properly. I hung out there a bit in the 2000’s and last poked my nose in about 3 years ago. The RoundTable topics are by quarter now, no longer daily.
At least Discourse is fairly open, and I see there are some plugins that support fediverse features. I realized that BBBBS was the only place I’d set pen to paper on some anecdotes, so was a bit panicked that it all shut down so quickly. At least I was able to get some stuff exported.
