This is a cool one. It actually looks like something a normal person could execute and it’s so pretty.

That looks horrid. (Not a fan of fondant)

Very odd medium for sculpture. Is it edible after 250 hours of work (I assume not continuous)?

I’m with @Wisconsin_Platt: fondant is never edible, even after only 5 minutes.

Buttercream icing 4EVA!

My preference is cake only, no icing period.

Gooey, custardy stuff making up inner layers is another matter altogether.

Yeah, there’s edible art, and then there’s art which happens to be edible, or at least made from edible things.

Personally, I like no icing, a teensy bit of glaze if β€œfancy” is called for, or royal icing on a fruit cake.

And yeah, less gooey, more cakey, especially in a world where β€œmoist” is confused with β€œoily”. @kxkvi

I agree, but when it comes to icing, buttercream is my choice. When I was young, I would trade my icing to my brothers for their cake.

Marina Sirtis is such a good sport.

And yikes, that is a way better icing job than in the original scene!

Looks like the nice cake might be a real. On the set, with all the bright lights I bet real icing would melt.

Oh of course you’re right. That would explain the shiny/melty look.

The peptides might have started denaturing, too.

It’s probably acrilic paint or something. I would guess it looks a bit sloppy because they wanted it to instantly β€œread” as frosting when seen on TVs.
